Sage was one of our first street cats, rescued from an industrial site with her 7 kittens. Sage was only a kitten herself at the time, around 10 months old. She had a broken leg, which we set with a splint and bandage before taking her to the vet for treatment. Her leg healed perfectly.

All 7 kittens were adopted out. Sage, however, wouldn’t go near anyone other than Bernard, who rescued her. We’ve noticed in the past year that she has become used to people, even coming up for pats regularly and being very chatty.   

Sage has a quirky feature - her pupils are at an angle. It doesn’t affect her sight, and we think it makes her look more adorable. She is a big girl and will benefit from regular play time to make sure she gets some exercise.

She is now ready for her own forever home. 

One thing to note – she does not like being picked up. But, she will happily sit with you and be the perfect companion.

She gets on well with other older shelter cats, and cuddles up to them in a cat bed.

Sage is an indoor-only cat and would be best suited to a home without children, with an older adopter(s) who would love a companion cat.

As Sage has only ever lived on the streets and at the shelter, it will likely take her more time to adjust to a new environment. She will need someone who understands this and will give her the time needed to feel safe and at home, without pressure. Love and patience are key in this situation.
